Over the last few years creativity in all its forms has been unleashed thanks in no small part to technology, this website is a celebration of that fact. Expect me to waffle on about pretty much anything that might, however tenuously, be linked to art and design.

Family

What I really love about my family is that they are both comforting yet challenging (as portrayed by this picture), is there any better way for a family to be? I don't think so!

Top Artists of 2005 — Part 1

As the last few days of 2005 pass by, it's a good opportunity to have a look at the play count in iTunes to see what I've been listening to this year. Top track for 2005?

'Jamaica Inn' taken from the Tori Amos CD 'The Beekeeper'. I've found this track to be super addictive, a lovely little melody and some memorable Tori style lyrics all blend to make this one of her finest in years!

17 Tori tracks make it into my top 100 of 2005 smart playlist, making her my artist of the year.

A Local Artist

A oil painting of the bay by a local artist. It captures the scene nicely and gives it a novel twist via inventive use of perspective and shadowing.

Coldplay!

Music has always been a hugely significant factor in my life. At the very least it has proved to be an effective maker of time — many important times are stamped into my memory by the familiar tones of a favorite song. On Wednesday of this week, Louise and I got to place a musical marker at the end of 2005 as we experienced Coldplay at Earls Court in London.

What defines a world-class live act such as Coldplay is their ability to conjure a mood! You could just tell that everyone present had the same sense of sadness as the first few notes of ‘The Scientist’ found their familiar frame, or the feeling of excitement as the simple yet compelling guitar of ‘Talk’ blasted outwards to the delight of the wide-eyed crowd.

‘Politik’ was also a highlight for me, the last minute or so is an extraordinarily well crafted piece, played live it was everything I had hoped for.

The night ended with a particularly passionate rendition of ‘Fix You’. The perfect ending to the second best live performance that I have ever witnessed.

Lennon

I've been listening to John Lennon this morning . . . What a great song writer, I also love the production, especially on 'Imagine', 'Mind Games' and 'Starting Over'. There's something really quite comforting about them, perhaps because they remind me of mum listening to them over and over again :0) Good times . . .

Time for a Makeover?

Anyone recognise the these two? I'm thinking of using them in a advertising campaign! ;)
