Over the last few years creativity in all its forms has been unleashed thanks in no small part to technology, this website is a celebration of that fact. Expect me to waffle on about pretty much anything that might, however tenuously, be linked to art and design.

April 15, 1912

As I walked to work this morning I got to thinking about the film 'Titanic'. It hardly gets a mention these days, odd really as how it is, by quite some margin, the highest grossing film of all time ($1,845,034,000). I remember one february evening in 1998 walking out of the cinema desparately trying to coach my vocal chords back into some kind of order, after holding back tears for the last hour. I never expected to be moved quite so much. On the face of it Titanic was a cheesy, predictable DeCaprio vehicle, but deep down it was much more. Titanic a had real backstory, one which anyone with access to a book store could research, plus it was of huge local interest. The music was chilling and the effects were first class. Pretty much from start to finish the film projects a sense of loss, and seeing as how everyone has lost something or someone dear to them it had a resonance which many people could feel. I might just have to get the DVD today.

If I could be . . .

. . . anywhere in the world tonight, it would be right here. I have an almost overwhelming desire to go fishing in Votuporanga! I'm not sure why, but I think it might to the appeal of the uncomplicatedness of it all, plus the lovely hot sunshine (sorry Paul ;)

Hello Cello!

The Cello has a resonance which is unsurpassed within the string section, it can either dominate or serve. The cello is very much alive, it speaks!

Capacious

What a great word! I have heard it before but never really thought about how lovely it sounds.
Abundant, broad, comfortable, commodious, comprehensive, dilatable, distensible, expandable, expansive, extended, extensive, generous, liberal, plentiful, roomy, sizable, spacious, substantial, vast, voluminous, wide.
Brazil and Brazilians are capacious. :)

Behold. The Tuba!

Since Jam Pack 4 for GarageBand, I have been enjoying the wonderful sound of the Symphony Orchestra. Over the next few days I shall be highlighting a few of my personal favourite instruments. First, the Tuba. Without its resonant depth and strength the whole band sounds weak. The tuba has excellent parts to play in brass ensembles and also plays in the orchestra for large scale works.

Featuring in the song ‘Green, Yellow, Blue’. ;)

Oh my . . .

The new Stereophonics single is really quite cool. Its strangely haunting in places. I wouldn't have tagged it for release though, it sounds more like one of those tracks which sits more comfortably towards the end of the CD. If this is the most commercial tune on the new CD then you have to wonder about the rest of the tracks. Interesting.

Rocky coastlines, rolling green hills, wooded valleys, sweeping
beaches, peaceful villages.

Tiago Pimps His Ride!

Hey, it may not look like much kid, but it's got it where it counts. Actually, I think this motor's more up-together than my Nissan! Ha! I was quite surprised at the general standard of the cars in Brazil, okay there were some dodgy ones, but overall--pretty nice.

Pink!!!

Haha! Only Paulo could get away with this . . . and no, there is no photoshop work on this picture. ;) They look quite pleased with their new colour, what colour's next Paulo?

Richard Marx is back!!!

80's rock is back! Good old Richard Marx has released a new single, 'Learning To Fly'. It has made me ask some questions . . . howcome I love Tori Amos AND Richard Marx?!!! In what way are they similar? They must be similar in some way, but how? Confusion reigns.
